Take Pride Learning® an educational, entrepreneurial, and eco-conscious San Diego based company that creates innovative educational products and curricula for children and approaches literacy from a brand new perspective. Using a blended method of teaching, Take Pride Learning® has channeled two decades of international education experience into a proven system of success. From her experiences educating the world’s youth in both America and Australia, founder Cindy Coleman, M.Ed. has formulated technologically advanced method of engaging children to learn. “I am a teacher turned entrepreneur and my dream is to change the world through education. To do this properly, I had to put together an all-star team (my Pride) and start at the beginning with early education,” said Coleman. It’s Take Pride Learning’s mission to put the “pride” back in learning through creativity with purpose.

Speaking Engagements

When founder Cindy Coleman speaks at public events, she advises on how the current education system is incomplete and provides solutions by infusing core standards with imagination, innovation and technology. Her public speaking engagements are dynamic – full of energy, passion and education. Cindy uses her experience implementing technology into curriculums to provide a truly complete education for all ages.

Live Workshops

Parents and children experience success in a short period of time during the live event and develop an early education playbook to take home for continued success. The iKnow Early Education System is implemented throughout the workshop and home experience. Give your child the edge, the advantage to succeed in life and school by building a strong foundation for learning and literacy.

Coaching

Cindy offers private coaching for parents and children. Whether a mom wants to learn specific strategies to help her young child learn how to read or a middle school or needs help with self-image or a high school sophomore wants to develop the mindset of a champion in the classroom and on the court, Cindy helps parents and children reach and surpass individual goals.

Professional Development

Cindy brings more than 20 years of international experience from both the classroom and boardroom to each professional development class she creates and teaches. She has taught teachers in all levels of education, leaving her impact and influence in each school for which she collaborates with through the implementation of high-tech curriculums in grades K-12. She has taught professional development courses to educate teachers on how to change and improve the way they teach within their own classrooms through the creative, interactive, effective and efficient use of technology.

Cindy assesses the current school climate, creates goals with administrators, teachers and personnel, and creates a custom plan to upgrade and enhance the school environment through technology.

What are the Levels of Engagement?

The Levels of Engagement are a three-tier system used by Take Pride Learning® to utilize technology effectively with purpose. The three steps include:

Level Three: In the Zone

When students are “In the Zone” they can (and do) achieve their goals and dreams.Students are completely engaged in the learning process and have a clear plan to accomplish their goals. Students learn with purpose while knowing how to raise their level of learning. Students are extremely motivated, have the inner-drive to succeed, and become self-confident. At this level, students elevate their ability to learn. Students achieve academic and personal success.

Level Two: Working

At this level, students have a moderate interest in what they are learning and begin to understand there is value in effort. Students are partially engaged in the learning process by lack focus and do not remain on task consistently. Students can successfully accomplish some goals but are not reaching their true potential.

Level One: Tuning In-Tuning Out

At this level, students are not engaged in the learning process. They tune in and tune out during class. They are not excited about learning nor are they motivated to learn and succeed. They view learning as a chore; something they are forced to do. They feel what they are learning is not relevant. At this level, students can become disruptive in class because they are bored and uninterested.

MEET CINDY

Cindy Coleman, M.Ed. Founder of @iKnow_ABCiKnow_ABCTeacher-turned-entrepreneur Cindy Coleman has had a life-long dream to change the world through education. Having earned both a Master’s Degree in Education in Instructional & Curricular Studies and a B.S.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Cindy re-entered the classroom immediately after finishing her studies while teaching pre-K, she began creating exciting curriculum using a multi-media approach to educate, excite, and captivate her young students. From there, Cindy became the co-resident technology coordinator at Seaton High School in Australia, developing an enhanced curriculum and integrating technology into the school environment.

Upon her return to the U.S., she integrated learning technology into Valley High School in Las Vegas, developing an original curriculum and instructing teachers on how to incorporate technology into their existing curriculum plans. She was also responsible for developing and teaching Professional Development Education classes for teachers and personnel in Las Vegas, where she designed and taught a series of college courses educating teachers on how to use computers and modern technology. Cindy then designed and created the 7th grade vision and curriculum for a new middle school in San Diego, using an engaging, technology-infused, interactive method in which students excelled. Cindy worked with charter schools and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation to improve education in San Diego County, and also created an interactive reading and science program in collaboration with the San Diego Zoo, which led to the evolution of iKnow.

Throughout her 20+ years in education, Cindy has also collaborated with a variety of foundations, world-class musicians, entrepreneurs and a New York Times Best-Selling author.

When she’s not creating and working, Cindy enjoys life at the beach with her family. She loves spending tie with her friends, engaging in sports (especially tennis), photography, music, and travel.

What is the Methodology Behind Take Pride Learning®?
Take Pride Learning® methodology uses a cinematic approach to teaching and learning. When you teach a child a fact – they will remember it. When you show a child an example, they can describe it. But, when you tell young children a story that they relate to on an emotional level, it becomes part of who they are; it shapes who they become and stays with them for life.

The products were developed using research-based findings from the National Reading Panel and the University of Oregon’s Big Ideas in Beginning Reading Institute for the Development of Educational Achievement, as well as other research-based methodologies.
